Job description

Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls in Arlington VA wants to welcome you! We are located at the Village at Shilrington, next to I-395 and the Shirlington Bus Station.

What Does a Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls Shift Leader Do?

Mason’s Shift Leaders are trained to perform all the duties performed by the Team Members, with additional responsibility for directing the daily operations of the restaurant in the Owner's absence, ensuring compliance with company standards in all areas of operation including product preparation and delivery, customer relations, restaurant maintenance, team management and other duties as required or assigned. Ensures quality and safety of all food stored at the restaurant and served to the customers.

ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification is required for this position. We provide training free to qualified candidates.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Excels in performing all Team Member tasks including: engaging with customers, ensuring the accuracy of orders, preparing lobster rolls and other entrees, and working the register.
• Provides fast accurate service, ensures an excellent customer experience, and makes sure all products are consistent with company standards.
• Leads Team Members and directs all daily operations of the restaurant in the absence of the Owners, opening and closing the store, ensuring all food preparation is complete, and managing employee breaks and shift changes.
• Maintains the restaurant's high-quality appearance and standards; ensures cleanliness, neatness, and customer accessibility.
• Uses the company cash register accurately and maintains proper control of company assets; makes accurate deposits.
• Works as a team player to support other employees in completing their tasks.
• Motivates and coaches Team Members and assists in the training of new Team Members.
• Offers friendly and expeditious customer service.
• Completes all other duties as assigned.

Shift Leaders earn $16 per hour guaranteed minimum for the first 12 months ($13.50 + tips), then $13.50 + tips thereafter. Shift Leaders split the tips earned by the entire team. While at work Shift Leaders also receive a free meal each shift. Mason's is a fast-casual concept with excellent operating hours - no early mornings or overnight shifts.
