Job summary

Beaming is seeking a Shift Lead to provide exceptional guest experiences while leading daily operations in a fast-paced health-focused cafe inside Club Studio Gym.

The role emphasizes customer service, team leadership, and accurate order execution. Part-time, on-site position with competitive hourly pay and an employee-friendly environment.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years supervisory experience in food/beverage environments making smoothies, and/or specialty beverages, or experience in retail and hospitality
• Must have (or obtain) a food handlers certification (i.e., ServSafe) prior to employment
• Ability to quickly learn new procedures, processes, and product knowledge
• Diligent and customer-focused with strong communication skills

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service and lead shift operations in the absence of management
• Complete daily opening and closing tasks and ensure accuracy of orders
• Operate POS system and manage daily sales records
• Ensure food safety and quality during preparation and service
• Coordinate with team to maintain a clean, organized work area
• Assist with inventory checks and restocking as needed
• Communicate with customers professionally and handle inquiries effectively

Summary/Objective

The Shift Lead position contributes to the success of Beaming by providing an exceptional customer service experience to all our guests. Our Shift Lead strives to make a positive impact on the team, and champions others to follow their lead. You are the go to shift leader in the absence of the Assistant General Manager and General Manager, representing the Beaming brand with excellence. As the Shift Lead, you empower the lives of our customers by providing products that are on the forefront of nutrition and innovation.

• Ensure speed of service by providing guests an incredible experience in an accurate and timely manner from when they place order (5-8 mins)

• Complete daily opening and closing checklist and tasks
• Prepare food and beverage (such as smoothies, juices, acai bowls, toast, lattes) to build guide recipe and standards
• Ensure correct measurements are when following all food and drink recipe preparations
• Complete tasks in a timely manner as designated by management
• Invoice checking to verify product are correct
• Stock incoming orders and merchandising product accordingly
• Fill out waste log and other tracking documents
• Wash blenders and kitchen utensils
• Be proactive to communicate to management if product is running low
• Comfortable with excessive noise from blenders, juicers, and other equipment
• Fulfill 3rd party and online orders accurately and in a timely manner with complimenting cutlery and disposables
• Follow daily and weekly deep cleaning calendar in store
• Participate in monthly and quarterly meetings
• Taking timely duty-free meal period(s) and/or rest break(s)
• Contribute and provide feedback for closing manager reports each day
• Complete and send closing manager reports each day
• Proficiency in the use technology and POS Systems
• Possess a Food Handlers Certification
• Check expiration on MTO and retail product offerings, daily
• Practice FIFO product handling
• Practice knife safety
• Count Inventory with General Manager monthly
• Hold marketing events (e.g. samplings)

Work Environment

This position works in a food/beverage setting. This role routinely uses restaurant equipment such as blenders, knifes, phones, tablets, POS registers, and standard cafe equipment such as freezers, walk-in refrigerators, 3 compartment sinks, ice machines, mop sinks.
