Job summary

Blank Street is hiring a Shift Lead to join our fast-paced cafe team in New York. You will lead by example on the floor, ensuring smooth shift operations and delivering exceptional hospitality to customers and team members.

This hands-on role requires passion for great coffee, strong people skills, and the ability to train new staff in recipes and store processes. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in a customer service leadership role, are 18+, and can work 30–40 hours weekly, including peak days

• 2+ years in a customer service leadership role (Shift Lead / Shift Supervisor / Key Holder)
• 18+ years of age
• Able to lift 25+ lbs and stand for long periods
• Full Time: 30-40 hours per week, 4-5 days, must cover 2 peak days (Fri–Sun)
• Authorized to work in the U.S. (E-Verify)
• Barista accreditation and training program

What You’ll Own

• Craft beautiful coffee and matcha products
• Provide exceptional hospitality to Blank Street customers
• Support your GM and help train new employees to succeed at Blank Street, including ensuring that new team members are following all recipe on the menu and operational processes in the store
• Open and close the the store safely and responsibly ensuring that all checklists are followed
• Handle and solve customer issues that occur
• Leads and support initiatives at the store level that increase foot traffic, new customers, daily sales, and operational profitability

Requirements

• 2+ years’ experience in a customer service leadership position (e.g. Shift Leader Shift Supervisor, Key Holder), preferably in hospitality, coffee, or beverage
• 18+ years of age
• Able to lift 25+ lbs, and to stand for long periods of time
• Availability that meets the needs of our cafes
  
  • Full Time: 30-40 hours per week, 4-5 days per week and must be able to work 2 peak days (peak days: Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
  • Weekend and holiday availability preferred
• You must be authorized to work in the U.S.: upon acceptance of a job offer and completion of the Form I-9 with acceptable documents, Blank Street will provide the federal government with employees’ Form I-9 information to confirm authorization to work in the U.S. (a process known as ”E-Verify”)
