Job summary

Blank Street, Inc. seeks a Shift Lead in Los Angeles to embody hospitality and lead the floor with confidence. You will coach the team, uphold quality and safety standards, and ensure smooth shifts with efficient operations and engaging customer experiences.

You’ll train staff alongside the General Manager, drive brand events with Marketing, and help build a welcoming culture in a fast-paced cafe environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience in a customer service leadership position (e.g. Shift Leader, Shift Supervisor, Key Holder).
• 18+ years of age.
• Able to lift 25+ lbs and stand for long periods.
• Full Time: 30-40 hours per week, 4-5 days, with 2 peak days (Fri–Sun).
• You must be authorized to work in the U.S. and pass E-Verify.

Responsibilities

• Lead the shift with clarity and confidence directing, coaching, and supporting the team.
• Train new team members with GM and Training Team.
• Maintain standards across product quality, safety, and hospitality.
• Delight customers with welcoming hospitality and turn them into regulars.
• Handle customer or team issues calmly and effectively.
• Maintain a clean, organized environment meeting health and Blank Street standards.
• Be part of a world-class team using the best equipment, coffee and matcha.
• Partner with Operations and Marketing for events and promotions.
• Master cash handling, inventory, waste tracking, opening and closing processes.

What You'll Own

• Lead the shift with clarity and confidence directing, coaching, and supporting the team while owning the floor


• Train new team members alongside your General Manager and the Training Team


• Continue to train others as we evolve to ensure we are achieving our standards across product quality, safety, and hospitality


• Delight our customers with consistent, welcoming and engaging hospitality, taking the opportunity to turn every customer into a regular


• Step in to handle customer or team issues in a calm, positive, and solutions-oriented way


• Maintain a clean and organized environment upholding both Local Department of Health and Blank Street standards at all times


• Be an integral part of our world class team using the best equipment, coffee, and matcha in the industry


• Partner with our Operations and Marketing teams for events and promotions to expand our brand to new customers


• Set your team up for success by mastering different company procedures such as cash handling, inventory, waste tracking, and opening and closing processes

Requirements

• 2+ years' experience in a customer service leadership position (e.g. Shift Leader Shift Supervisor, Key Holder), preferably in hospitality, coffee, or beverage
