Job summary

Lancaster Wings, Inc. is looking for a Shift Lead to oversee the sports bar operations and manage a team of approximately 40 members. The role requires a strong passion for sports and a commitment to providing excellent customer service in a fun and high-energy environment.

This position includes responsibility for training team members, managing labor and inventory costs, and producing operational reports. Candidates must have at least one year of experience in restaurant management, be at least 21 years old, and have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Shift Lead Responsibilities

• Provide support to the Sports Bar as an extension of the salaried management team.
• Directly supervise approximately 40 team members (depending on location) and hold them accountable to their specific job duties and overall work performance.
• Provide feedback to the management team to help build team member schedules.
• Enforce all company standards and policies, including the code of conduct, team member handbook, and applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Manage and follow up on various tasks vital to the overall operation of the sports bar.
• Maintain sports bar compliance with beer and liquor licensing, work authorization, and wage and hour laws.
• Emphasize safety, sanitation, and security awareness, ensuring all team members are properly trained.
• Conduct daily line and equipment checks, maintain cleanliness, and meet Health Department and Corporate audit standards.
• Maintain company standards for food quality, taste, and presentation.
• Prevent cross‑contamination and improper food handling through proper training and supervision.
• Resolve escalated conflicts or guest complaints and provide immediate communication with management.
• Adhere to company cash handling and payment processing procedures and policies.
• Produce daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required.
• Optimize store profit by managing labor and cost of goods/inventory.
• Provide clear, respectful, and constructive feedback to team members.
• Exercise sound judgment and professional decision making on escalated issues to prevent or diffuse potential risks.
• Increase sales through community involvement, promotions, and outstanding guest satisfaction.
• Take ownership, pride, and responsibility for overall operation and performance of the sports bar.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.

Knowledge and Skills You Bring

• Passion for people and sports
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Successful completion of a background check
• Minimum of one year experience in restaurant management or supervision, preferably in a high‑volume, full‑service restaurant
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Reliable source of transportation required
• ServSafe certification recommended
• Proficient understanding of food allergens
• Ability to obtain a Food Handler Card
• Exposure to cleaning chemicals, heat and A/C units, and walk‑in freezers
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including opening, closing, weekends, and holidays
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Highly motivated to achieve superior results, a self‑starter, and strong attention to detail, organization, and multi‑tasking skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of proprietary company and team member information
• Ability to remain professional under pressure
• Personable and friendly personality and ability to communicate with guests
• Strong understanding and delivery of excellent customer service and guest satisfaction
• Knowledge of basic math functions and currency calculations
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and with others
• Ability to take direction and constructive feedback from leadership
• Ability to work with computers, Windows programs, calculators, copy machines, printers, cash drawers, POS touch screens, food products, and cooking equipment
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and lift overhead frequently
• Ability to work at a fast pace and stand for extended periods of time
