Job summary

Utz Quality Foods in Hanover, PA seeks a Shift Lead to guide Repack, VAS, and Sorting teams on C Shift, Friday through Sunday, 6:00 AM–6:00 PM. You will drive production goals, uphold food safety standards, and coach staff to maintain quality and efficiency.

You’ll partner with supervisors and QA to ensure GMP compliance, use ERP tools for inventory and reporting, and lead continuous improvement initiatives across shifts while promoting teamwork and safety.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in production, Repack, VAS, or Sorting operations.
• Forklift experience with day-one certification preferred.
• Familiarity with ERP systems (D365 preferred).
• Knowledge of food safety, GMPs, and quality control.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to train and mentor production/warehouse staff.
• Problem-solving with attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Spanish language helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations in Repack, VAS, and Sorting to meet production, quality, and safety goals.
• Perform quality checks and coordinate with Plant 3 QA for product integrity.
• Assist Supervisor with scheduling, training, and evaluating team members.
• Maintain clear communication with supervisors about downtime and issues.
• Monitor stations for efficiency, accuracy, and GMP compliance.
• Use ERP (D365) to track materials, data entry, and reporting needs.
• Oversee unloading/loading and dock coordination for inbound/outbound materials.
• Support warehouse processes including returns, sorting, and distribution.
• Lead projects and continuous improvement initiatives as assigned.
• Maintain clean, safe, organized work areas and report unsafe conditions.
• Provide leadership in supervisor absence and support auditing processes.
