Lidl US is seeking a proactive Shift Lead to balance back-of-house tasks with frontline store duties, ensuring smooth operations and strong customer service. The role requires 21+, 1–2 years in leadership, physical stamina for stocking and lifting, and a commitment to excellent English communication.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills, including de-escalation.
• Willingness to perform physical store tasks.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and reach overhead.
• Flexible to start at 5am or finish at 11pm, including weekends.

• ServSafe certification ability/eligibility.

Summary

The Shift Lead is a highly experienced team member who performs complex, high-impact tasks to enhance the customer shopping experience and steps in for store leadership when needed. What You’ll Do

• Uphold Lidl’s standards for cleanliness, freshness, product availability, and customer service throughout the store
• While serving as the Shift Lead, run assigned shifts in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager, ensuring smooth and efficient operations, supporting front end flow, and responding to customer concerns as needed
• Additionally, when acting in the capacity of the Shift Lead, carry out key operational tasks such as inventory receiving, cold chain compliance, safe handling, price changes, returns processing, ordering, and timekeeping procedures
• Follow established processes for stock handling, including receiving inventory, write-offs, and returns, to support availability and reduce shrink
• Encourage timely and accurate task completion by maintaining focus on priorities and setting a strong example during the shift
• Flex between operational responsibilities such as stocking, cleaning, and promotional merchandising to meet store needs
• Perform other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• 1-2 years of leadership experience
• A team-oriented attitude
• Excellent customer service skills, including the patience and ability to de-escalate tense situations
• Willingness to participate in the physical operations of the store, including stocking, cleaning, and ringing on a constant basis
• Ability to lift, move, carry, or slide product over 50 pounds
• Ability to reach above head to heights greater than 10 inches
• The flexibility to start an early shift at 5am or finish a late shift at 11pm, including weekends
• Excellent written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills, in the English language
• Ability to obtain and maintain ServSafe certification
