Overview

Graham Packaging Company is looking for a Shift Lead (Production) based in Minster, OH. This opening is for dayshift, which operates during the hours of approximately 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.

  • Weekly pay starting at $29.90 per hour.

The Production/Shift Leads are responsible for overseeing production lines during a full shift of operation. They are responsible for knowing and enforcing policies, procedures, practices, and programs. The primary duties of a Production/Shift Lead include:

  • Understanding, following, and enforcing all established safety, health, quality GMP, and company policies, procedures, and recognized practices.
  • Assigning shift personnel to production equipment, following shift work schedules and break schedules to ensure work is completed on time.
  • Training employees on a shift.
  • Participating in continuous quality improvement projects and other related activities as assigned.
  • Overseeing safety, security, good housekeeping, and enforcing company policies to eliminate accidents and control accident costs.
  • Resolving production and quality problems that occur on a shift. Making frequent checks of product quality and GMP standards and providing functional guidance to shift operations and quality personnel.
  • Completing written documentation as required.
  • Attending all production, safety, and shift meetings.
  • Assisting the Production Manager in reviewing shift operations and making recommendations related to changes in organization, personnel, equipment, and procedures.
  • Following work orders and ensuring proper product codes are used and built.
  • Accurately reporting production data.
  • Troubleshooting and making necessary adjustments to machinery and equipment.
  • Inspecting materials prior to use.
  • Travel may be required up to 25%.
Qualifications

The education, experience, and certifications required are:

A minimum of 2 years' experience in an operations supervisory or management role in a manufacturing environment with demonstrated leadership skills strongly preferred.

Production Leads are required to interact with managers, employees, vendors, and customers. Therefore, the following skills and proficiencies are also essential:

  • Ability to maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendance.
  • Computer usage and typing skills are essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within instructions given, routines, and standard practices.
  • Effective communication: conveying facts and information clearly both verbally and in writing.
  • Collaborative: proactively contributing to group objectives and volunteering to help others.
  • Ability to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Compensation Statement

The expected salary range for this position is made in accordance with the legal mandates of certain jurisdictions within the United States. The final salary will be based on individual qualifications and experience.
