Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Cashier/Stocker to support store operations and act in a lead capacity in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager. You will assist in setting and maintaining plan-o-grams and programs, and provide exemplary customer service to shoppers.

Duties include unloading trucks, stocking shelves, assisting customers, operating the register and processing payments, keeping the store clean, and helping ensure a safe, well-organized shopping environment for all

Qualifications

• Must perform basic math calculations including percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposits.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety policies and practices.
• Strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandising guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks following store procedures.
• Receive, open, and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock, rotate, and face merchandise; build displays.
• Restock returned merchandise.
• Order zones and drop shipments as directed by the Store Manager.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Greet customers and assist with locating merchandise.
• Operate cash register and process payments; bag merchandise.
• Maintain clean store, restrooms, and stockroom; ensure safety and security.
