Shift Lead

Walgreens is hiring a Shift Lead to manage store operations, provide excellent customer service, and lead a retail team.

Base Pay Range

$17.00/hr – $20.00/hr

Responsibilities

• Open and close the store in absence of store management, including start‑up systems, cash handling, and readiness of floor and stock rooms.
• Complete product returns, order voids, customer refunds, cash drops to the safe, and provide change to cash registers.
• Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services; resolve issues and answer questions.
• Assist with the warehouse and vendor ordering process, opening the backdoor for deliveries, and coach team members.
• Record all sales accurately, manage scanning errors and price modifications, and assist managers with order exceptions and reverse logistics.
• Support promotional, seasonal, and secondary displays; complete resets and revisions.
• Maintain accurate inventory counts and ensure proper stock rotation.
• Execute basic departmental pricing, daily price changes, and signage updates.
• Assist with bookkeeping activities such as cash reports, cash counts, ledgers, and bill payment.
• Maintain store appearance, cleanliness, and request repairs in manager’s absence.
• Perform separation of food items per policy, assist in stock rotation, and use first-in, first-out methods.
• Use store systems and equipment proficiently.
• Assist at the pharmacy out window when requested.
• Ensure compliance with state and local regulations for regulated products.
• Check team members’ bags before store closing.
• Adhere to all company policies, maintain respectful coworker relationships, and complete special assignments.

Training & Personal Development

• Attend training and complete required PPLs as requested by management.

Communications

• Act as a liaison between management and non‑management team members when store management is not present.
• Report disciplinary issues and customer complaints to management.

Basic Qualifications

• One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder experience.
• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of store inventory control.
• Employment consideration for candidates with lawful arrest and conviction records.
• Valid PTCB certification or pharmacy license as required by state.
