Job summary

Constellation Energy Corp. is seeking a Foreman to oversee operations within an assigned power plant, ensuring safe, continuous, and economical processes. The role covers operations, maintenance, fuels, or I&C, with accountability for adherence to government and industry standards.

You will develop staff, coordinate with other foremen, and support outage activities while upholding company values and safety practices in daily responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Engineering Technology, Electronics, or related field or equivalent high school diploma with 18 months of trade/technical training in Power Plant Technology or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience as a technician in power plant operations, maintenance, fuels, or instrumentation and controls (I&C).
  • Maintain minimum access requirement or unescorted access and pass medical examination as applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and executing work schedules for assigned employees.
  • Coach new and existing employees in processes and practices.
  • Communicate information up and down the chain to ensure safe, reliable operations.
  • Coordinate turnover of information between foremen and shifts to maintain safe operations.
  • Demonstrate troubleshooting and problem-solving in equipment and personnel assets.
  • Develop employees to increase on-the-job skill sets.
  • Direct and ensure safety and productivity goals are met by the team.
  • Adhere to customer awareness and company policies in daily duties.
  • Participate in performance evaluations and support company values.
  • Perform other duties as directed, including outage support.

Education

Expected salary range of $116,100 to $129,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).

Primary Purpose of Position

This position is responsible for the efficient and effective operation within an assigned organization, in support of the Company's goals and objectives. Whether in operations, maintenance, Fuels or I&C, the Foreman is expected to ensure that safe, continuous and economical processes and procedures are carried out at all times. Within their duties is the responsibility to adhere to the Company's business and ethical standards and assure compliance with all applicable government and industry regulations and practices.

Primary Duties and Accountabilities
  • Assist in the development of and execution of work schedules and tasks given to assigned employees, and ensure they are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Coach new and existing employees in processes, procedures and practices.
  • Communicate in all directions in an efficient manner: with employees assigned, with other Foremen and with management when and as called upon to do so. This includes ensuring the work team is aware of information from management, and that management is aware of the information it needs to make decisions in support of strategies and goals.
  • Coordinate with, and "turnover" to, other Foremen and shifts the information they will need to continue safe and reliable operations.
  • Demonstrate troubleshooting and problem solving capabilities when called for by exercising good judgment and decision-making skills. This applies to equipment assets and human assets.
  • Develop assigned employees such that their skill sets on the job are increased.
  • Direct the work of employees in meeting safety and productivity goals and ensure the team and its members follow all work practices.
  • Ensure that employees perform their duties in a manner consistent with a cognizance of customer awareness and concern.
  • Make recommendations as to performance improvement both to assigned employees and to organizational management.
  • Participate in the Company's formal performance evaluation process of assigned employees.
  • Support the Company's core values and exhibit positive leadership behaviors.
  • Perform other job assignments and duties as directed by management or in accordance with company policy, including but not limited to department duty coverage, call‑out responsibilities, and supporting positions outside of the department during outage activities.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Engineering Technology, Electronics, or related field; in lieu of degree, high school diploma with 18-months of trade or technical training in Power Plant Technology or a related field
  • 8-years of experience as a technician in power plant operations, maintenance, fuels, or instrumentation and controls (I&C); in lieu of experience, a minimum six-month rotation or temporary assignment in a Shift Foreman role
  • Maintain minimum access requirement or unescorted access requirements, as applicable, and favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties
