A Shift Engineer will be responsible primarily for general maintenance and repairs in guest room, meeting space, and front of the house areas, as well as back of the house areas including kitchen, laundry, electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems. A Shift Engineer will also perform preventive maintenance on major equipment and systems, using a windows based computer system. Ability to read blue prints and schematics is preferred, along with basic trouble-shooting skills. A minimum of three years building maintenance experience is required with hotel experience preferred. Good communication skills are necessary.

This is an hourly position with a compensation of $58.84 per hour.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in hotel, commercial, or facilities maintenance engineering.
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs, building management systems (BMS), and life safety systems.
  • Proficient in the maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematic diagrams.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve engineering issues.
  • Comfortable using work order systems and basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Outlook, maintenance software).
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditions.
  • Must be available to workrotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively with guests and colleagues.
  • Commitment to safety, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to maintenance tasks.
  • Dependable, punctual, and solutions-oriented with a strong sense of responsibility.
