Job summary

Jobtailor in Johns Creek, GA seeks an experienced Automation/Controls Engineer to lead design, development, and maintenance of instrumentation and control systems. You will apply control theory, modeling, and Beckhoff/TwinCAT expertise to optimize reliability and performance on manufacturing lines.

On-site role requiring 36–48 hours weekly, night shift rotation, and strict GxP compliance; relocation sponsorship not available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering or related field.
• Experience in automation control systems preferred.
• Proficiency in English communication (reading/writing/speaking).

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute complex tasks involving the design, development, implementation, operation, and maintenance of instrumentation, electrical, and automation control systems
• Design and support automation control systems across diverse manufacturing and engineering applications
• Apply mathematical modeling and analyze system dynamics to develop effective control strategies
• Use control theory and advanced engineering principles to optimize system reliability, efficiency, and performance
• Support manufacturing operations through automation design, system configuration, and technical troubleshooting
• Contribute to complex engineering projects and make decisions influencing outcomes and system performance
• Evaluate and implement advancements in automation, controls, and system design technologies
• Ensure GxP compliance through SOP adherence, accurate documentation, and quality standards
• Support organizational compliance and continuous improvement initiatives

Job description

• Lead and execute complex tasks involving the design, development, implementation, operation, and maintenance of instrumentation, electrical, and automation control systems
• Design and support automation control systems across diverse manufacturing and engineering applications
• Apply mathematical modeling and analyze system dynamics to develop effective control strategies
• Use control theory and advanced engineering principles to optimize system reliability, efficiency, and performance
• Support manufacturing operations through automation design, system configuration, and technical troubleshooting

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +8 yrs; Assoc.+4 yrs)
• Ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
• Availability for 36–48 hours per week, 6:00 PM EST–6:00 AM EST, 12-hour rotating night shift: 2 nights on, 2 nights off, and every other weekend
• Travel required: 0–5%
• Experience in Mechatronics
• Strong electrical troubleshooting skills
• Experience with Beckhoff / TwinCAT systems
• Proficiency in Structured Text programming language
• Experience with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers)
• Must work onsite
• Sponsorship and relocation not available
