Job summary

Black Hog Brewing in Oxford, CT seeks an experienced Shift Brewer for a full-time, 40-hour work week. You will operate and maintain all brewing and cellaring equipment, manage wort production, and assist with transfers, dry hopping, and CIP tasks while upholding safety and quality.

Ideal candidate brings 1+ year on a 10–20 bbl system and familiarity with Excel/Google Suite. Competitive salary with PTO, partial medical benefits, 401k with employer match, and product sampling allowance.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced production brewery.

Job description

Black Hog Brewing, an award winning craft brewery in Oxford, CT, is looking for an experienced, full-time Shift Brewer.

Responsibilities Including but not limited to:

• Operating AND maintaining ALL brewing & cellaring equipment
• Reports directly to the Lead Brewer
• Wort Production
• Mixing alternative beverages - RTDs / THC Infused products
• Dry Hopping
• Product Transfers
• Keeping all equipment in excellent condition
• CIPing of all cellar & brewhouse equipment
• Checking carbonation of finished product before packaging
• Maintaining a clean workspace

Experience

• A minimum of 1 year brewing on a 10bbl - 20bbl system.
• Understanding basic brewing science & techniques
• A minimum of 1 year working in a fast paced production brewery.
• Basic computer skills/knowledge - Excel, Google Suite, Proficient in emailing

Ideal Candidate will possess the following:

• Able to lift 55 lbs repeatedly and maneuver 165 lbs.
• Able to work a flexible schedule between the hours of 6am & 6pm.

This is a full-time (40 hours /week) salaried position, Monday - Friday. We offer a competitive salary ($45,000-$54,000/yr), paid-time off, partial medical benefits, a 401k with employer match, and a generous product sampling allowance.
