Job Overview

The Director of Housekeeping is responsible for overseeing the efficient operation of the Housekeeping Department, ensuring compliance with Aimbridge Hospitality standards. This includes leading the team across rooms, public areas, laundry, and front/back of house operations. Exempt associates are expected to work as necessary to fulfill their responsibilities, typically directing at least 3 full-time staff members. The role involves significant administrative, executive, or professional tasks, requiring discretion and independent judgment.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field, or a 2-year college degree with 5+ years of experience, or a 4-year degree with at least 3 years of related experience.
  • Supervisory experience required.
  • Proficiency in Windows OS, approved spreadsheets, and word processing.
  • Valid driver’s license for the applicable state.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to evaluate options quickly, and work well under pressure.
  • Effective problem-solving, data analysis, and customer service skills.
Responsibilities
  • Provide attentive, friendly, and service-oriented guest and staff interactions.
  • Maintain attendance, appearance, and grooming standards.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, security, and company policies, including certifications like Food Handlers, CPR, and First Aid.
  • Manage key control, radio communication, and departmental leadership.
  • Conduct performance appraisals, develop managers, and lead team meetings.
  • Prepare staff schedules, handle purchasing, and ensure guest privacy and security.
  • Respond to emergencies, monitor VIP guests, and oversee maintenance and cleaning projects.
  • Maintain professional relationships across departments and handle sensitive areas responsibly.
