Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of experience interacting with the public, including at least six months in a veterinary technician position.
• An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the prep room and surgery room, including setup of oxygen, vaccines, and diagnostic tools.
• Sedates and preps animals for surgery.
• Monitors animals before, during, and after surgery.
• Cleans and sanitizes clinic areas, kennels, and surgical instruments.
• Administers medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians.
• Releases animals to fosters, rescues, or adopters and provides post-operative care instructions.
• Documents veterinary care and relevant case details in digital systems.
• Provides information on clinic services and supports the animal services mission.
• May assist on the mobile Spay/Neuter Clinic and drives the mobile unit.
