Qualifications

• Candidates must have an advanced working knowledge of veterinary medicine and animal care.
• Successful completion of Euthanasia Certification program within 6 months of hire.
• Knowledge of animal shelter procedures and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Rotate between the medical center, surgery center, and community clinic.
• Perform intake exams and begin treatments on patients.
• Assist Veterinarians with patient appointments for illnesses.
• Perform and assist with euthanasia.
• Maintain population management software and handle administrative duties.

Skills

Technical skills in medication administration

Knowledge in animal behavior

Proficiency in Microsoft 365

Interpersonal skills

Education

Certification as a Veterinary Technician

Two or more years of experience as a veterinary technician
