Job summary

Responsibilities include staffing, workflow planning, and quality control. You will collaborate with veterinarians, oversee intake, and provide training to technicians and assistants, with on-call requirements and varied shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience in Animal Services / Animal Welfare / Animal Husbandry / Veterinary Clinic / Law Enforcement / Code Compliance / First Responders with 2+ of the listed areas.
• Lead/work supervision experience with teams and priorities.
• Knowledge of shelter medicine regulations and animal care standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the animal examination and intake operations at the city shelter, monitors staff, delegates assignments, and evaluates performance.
• Creates schedules and workflows to ensure coverage and timely completion of work.
• Inspects work for quality and adherence to policies; improves procedures as needed.
• Oversees animal medical evaluation processes and updates records; coordinates care with veterinarians.
• Assists veterinarians with procedures and exams and supports medical services.
• Oversees intake rooms and ensures safety, cleanliness, and stock management.
• Trains staff and provides professional development in line with policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
