Job summary

Brown Animal Hospital in Peoria, IL, partners with PCAPS to recruit an Associate Veterinarian focused on high-volume spay/neuter and shelter medicine. You will help reduce pet overpopulation while delivering compassionate care in a stable, weekday schedule.

The role centers on the PCAPS mobile unit, performing spay/neuter surgeries and addressing shelter animal needs in a collaborative setting with Brown Animal Hospital and PCAPS.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent degree required.
• Illinois veterinary license or ability to obtain one.
• Experience in high-volume surgery and shelter medicine preferred.
• Strong surgical skills or desire to further develop.
• Efficient, organized, and team-oriented.
• Passion for community medicine and animal welfare.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality, high-volume canine and feline spay/neuter surgeries.
• Evaluate and treat shelter animals following the surgery schedule.
• Maintain efficient surgical workflow with patient safety priority.
• Collaborate with Brown Animal Hospital and PCAPS teams.
• Support shelter initiatives to improve animal welfare in Peoria County.
• Practice compassionate, high-quality veterinary medicine.
