Job description

Overview

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health brings together two award winning health systems in Washington state - CHI Franciscan and Virginia Mason. As one integrated health system with the most patient access points in western Washington our team includes 18,000 staff and nearly 5,000 employed physicians and affiliated providers. At Virginia Mason Franciscan Health you will find the safest and highest quality of care provided by our expert, compassionate medical care team at 11 hospitals and nearly 300 sites throughout the greater Puget Sound region.

Responsibilities

The primary purpose of this position is to create an environment where homeless individuals can be safe during the night. By creating trust, this position encourages and supports the homeless individual in connecting with other daytime services at Bailey-Boushay House to secure permanent housing.

Virginia Mason Medical Center was recognized among the Best Hospitals in Washington state by U.S. News & World Report. Bailey-Boushay House is a nationally recognized model for HIV care.

Our services include a 35 bed inpatient program that focuses primarily on individuals who are experiencing end of life due to HIV, ALS, Huntington's Disease or cancer. Our outpatient program serves approximately 360 individuals who have HIV/AIDS complicated by homelessness, mental illness, justice system involvement and/or chemical dependency. This particular position will support our outpatient services. We believe in putting the patient and their needs first, so every Bailey-Boushay clinician learns to do every job. Days are never the same and could include a mix of Nursing, serving lunch, helping a client with a shower, etc.

Candidates should possess the willingness to work in a nontraditional position among patients in a milieu setting vs a job that is anchored at a desk. Since we are a 7 day a week operation, staff share weekend coverage on a rotational basis. Staff work together to produce a staffing schedule to meet the needs of the team. As an employee of Virginia Mason, our staff enjoy the emotional benefits of working at a nonprofit facility, but are paid as hospital employees - a higher level of compensation than the typical social service agency.

Join Bailey-Boushay House and continue your career as a Registered Nurse with an organization that provides the opportunity to grow with one of the premier healthcare organizations in the Pacific Northwest.

As a part of our organization, we currently offer the following additional benefits:

  1. Competitive starting wages (DOE) and training to grow within the company
  2. Paid holidays, vacation and sick time
  3. Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance plans
  4. Flexible health spending accounts: DCFSA and FSA
  5. Health Savings Account - (HSA) for use with the high deductible health plan
  6. Short and long term disability programs
  7. Employer paid life insurance
  8. 401a and 403b retirement program
  9. Transportation Benefits - Transportation FSA and ORCA Card
  10. Tuition Assistance for career growth and development
  11. Bright Horizons programs for additional support with children, pets, dependent adults, and household needs
  12. Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for you and your family
  13. Voluntary Protection: Group Accident, Critical Illness, and Identity Theft

We deliver inspired people to do meaningful work.
