Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine/Technology, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Veterinary clinical experience.
  • Knowledge of university program goals and objectives (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison with partner shelters across the greater Jacksonville area
  • Coordinate faculty, staff, and student schedules related to shelter-based teaching and clinical activities
  • Oversee animal use requirements and ensure compliance with protocols
  • Provide clinical care on an as needed basis
  • Manage shelter-based inventory, ensuring resources are available and maintained appropriately
  • Develop and implement shelter-specific policies and procedures in alignment with University and College standards
  • Collaborate with community partners and organizations to enhance shelter-based teaching and clinical resources
  • Represent LMU-OPCVM in meetings and partnerships with external shelter stakeholders
  • Promote effective working relationships among faculty, staff, students, and shelter personnel
  • Track and manage data related to shelter operations and resource use
  • Coordinate logistics for shelter-based teaching and clinical activities
  • Support reporting and documentation requirements for accreditation, compliance, and internal use
  • Participate in University, College, and staff committees as assigned
  • Foster collaborative engagement between LMU-OPCVM and shelter partners
  • Maintain clear, professional, and timely communication with all stakeholders
  • Perform duties in support of the College s and University s mission and evolving needs

Skills

Credentialed Veterinary Technician
Higher education experience
