Job summary

The Salvation Army – Owens Campus is seeking a team-oriented individual to manage the Day Resource Center dormitories and support homeless guests. You will handle check-in, data entry in HMIS, and oversee volunteers and vocational training activities.

Responsibilities include maintaining safety, coordinating laundry and distribution, and generating routine reports using Word and Excel. A valid Nevada driver’s license and background checks are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum six months’ experience working with the homeless population in an emergency shelter environment.
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, e-mail and internet.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Detail-oriented; organized with good filing skills.
• Ability to work in a team setting.
• Must possess a valid Nevada driver’s license and pass MVR check.
• Ability to work varying shifts.
• Must pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the Day Resource Center dormitories as a safe and sanitary environment for homeless guests.
• Responsible for the complete operation of all laundry as well as the distribution.
• Monitor the Day Resource Center facility regularly; check all areas at least every two hours.
• Assist the homeless with facility check-in, HMIS forms, and other documents.
• Input HMIS data.
• Supervise Vocational clients performing Pre-Employment training.
• Supervise volunteers and community service workers.
• Refer homeless participants to community resources as needed.
• Attend staff meetings.
• Record and document sales transactions and payments for bed sheet information, bed rentals, and laundry services.
• Prepare and process statistical reports in Word and Excel.
• Maintain a written journal (log) of routine inspections and activities.
• Other duties as assigned.
