Job summary

Humane Society of Central Oregon is seeking a Client Care Manager to lead client-facing shelter services, including adoptions, reunification, and community programs. You will oversee a compassionate client experience, maximize positive animal outcomes, and strengthen HSCO’s reputation as a trusted community resource.

The role requires strong people leadership, collaboration across departments, and a commitment to continuous improvement in a high‑stress shelter environment.

Qualifications

• Passionate about helping animals and creating compassionate client experiences.
• Strong people leadership with curiosity, asking questions, gathering information, and accountability.

Responsibilities

• Lead client-facing shelter services and live outcome programs (adoptions, return to owner, pet food assistance).
• Recruit, onboard, train, schedule, supervise, coach, and evaluate Client Care staff.
• Create a client service culture grounded in compassion and curiosity.
• Inspire staff to promote adoptable animals and HSCO programs.
• Monitor activity and outcomes, identify barriers, implement improvements.
• Collaborate with Philanthropy, Communications, Animal Care, Veterinary Services, Foster and Volunteer teams.
• Support staff wellness and a compassionate workplace.
• Contribute to policies, procedures, and strategic initiatives.
