Job summary

East Bay SPCA seeks a Client Care Supervisor to guide the Oakland Shelter’s client care team and oversee daily front-desk operations. The role partners with the Oakland Shelter Manager to provide coaching, training, scheduling, and staff development, ensuring outstanding client care and animal welfare at the Oakland Shelter.

The position emphasizes leadership, recruitment, performance feedback, and collaboration with multiple departments to enhance the shelter experience for clients and animals

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of experience in a customer service role
• Experience supervising or leading a team
• Multilingual fluency preferred
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Reliable transportation and valid CA driver's license may be required

Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent client service, including processing adoptions, returns, surrenders, and other interactions
• Supervise ClientCare Associates; provide coaching and performance feedback
• Recruit, schedule, train, and develop Oakland shelter staff
• Oversee daily reception operations and ensure a clean, orderly workspace
• Coordinate with shelter management and departments to improve client care and shelter operations
