Job summary

Seminole County/Board of County Commissioners seeks a compassionate Animal Shelter Attendant to care for shelter animals, feed, clean, monitor health, and assist customers with adoptions and lost animal redemptions.

Responsibilities include maintaining cages, assisting with vaccinations and deworming, and aiding in euthanasia when needed. Must be willing to work holidays, weekends, and emergencies; high school diploma required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and six months experience.
• Comparable amount of education or training may substitute the minimum.
• Knowledge of techniques for safe handling of animals.

Responsibilities

• Cares for animals in the shelter: feeding, cleaning, monitoring behavior and health.
• Maintains cages and equipment; ensures sanitation.
• Assists in vaccination and worming of animals.
• Assists in euthanasia of animals when required.
• Help customers with adoptions and redemption of lost animals.
• Open to working holidays, weekends, and emergency operations.
