Job summary

Huntington Ingalls Industries, Inc.'s Ingalls Shipbuilding division in Pascagoula, MS seeks a seasoned sheet metal fabricator to fabricate and install ductwork, venting systems, and related components from blueprints and specifications. You will plan layouts using shop mathematics and read marine blueprints to ensure precise fabrication.

The role requires at least four years of sheet metal or related craft experience; candidates with brake and shear operation skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires a minimum of four (4) years of sheetmetal experience or related craft experience in joiner, shipfitting, and/or carpentry.
• Ability to read marine blueprints and work from standard and metric specifications.
• Experience setting up and operating sheet metal machines such as brakes and shears.

The Role

Fabricates and installs a variety of sheet metal such as ductwork, venting systems, main engine exhaust, metal containers and instrumentation panels. Plan and lay out work from blueprints, drawings, and other specifications, using shop mathematics.

Must Have

Requires a minimum of four (4) years of sheetmetal experience or related craft experience in joiner, shipfitting, and/or carpentry.

Nice to Have

Prefer candidates with the ability to set up and operate a variety of sheetmetal machines such as brakes and shears, pass a skill assessment test, ability to read marine blueprints, and work from standard and metric specifications.
