Job summary

Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula, MS is seeking a skilled sheetmetal worker to fabricate and install ductwork, venting systems, engine exhaust, containers, and instrumentation panels for naval ships. You will plan layouts from blueprints and specifications using shop math.

Preferred candidates have at least four years in sheetmetal or related crafts, with ability to read marine blueprints and work from standard and metric specs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of four years of sheetmetal or related craft experience.
• Experience in joiner, shipfitting, or carpentry preferred.
• Ability to read marine blueprints and work from standard/metric specifications.

The Role

Fabricates and installs a variety of sheet metal such as ductwork, venting systems, main engine exhaust, metal containers and instrumentation panels. Plan and lay out work from blueprints, drawings, and other specifications, using shop mathematics.

Must Have

Requires a minimum of four (4) years of sheetmetal experience or related craft experience in joiner, shipfitting, and/or carpentry.

Nice to Have

Prefer candidates with the ability to set up and operate a variety of sheetmetal machines such as brakes and shears, pass a skill assessment test, ability to read marine blueprints, and work from standard and metric specifications.
