The Sheetmetal Mechanic will fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal products and equipment, such as ductwork, plenums, air devices, louvers, and air moving equipment.

Job Description
  1. Set up and operate fabricating machines, such as shears, brakes, bending rolls, and punch and drill presses to cut, bend, and straighten sheet metal.
  2. Use spot welders, hand-held power tools, air hammers, and hand tools to assemble ductwork and other sheet metal assemblies.
  3. Install ductwork and sheet metal assemblies on the work site according to blueprints and specifications using hand tools and portable power tools.
  4. Install air-moving equipment, such as air handlers, heat pumps, exhaust fans, and unit heaters.
  5. Inspect and test installations for conformance with project requirements.
Requirements
  • At least 1 year of prior experience with sheet metal work in the mechanical/HVAC industry.
  • Understanding of basic math.
  • Ability to work skillfully with tools, metals, and machines.
  • Ability to visualize three-dimensional objects from drawings, sketches, or blueprints.
  • Ability to work within precise limits and standards of accuracy.
