Job summary

Forum Communications Company in Fargo is seeking a Press Operator to operate and maintain web printing presses and ensure output meets quality standards. The role supports our local publication operations serving the Fargo-Margo area and beyond.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work independently within a team in a fast-paced printing environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience operating a sheetfed press preferred (Goss or DGM).
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced printing plant.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and maintain printing presses.
  • Monitor print quality and ensure client specifications are met.
  • Perform routine maintenance on printing equipment and maintain housekeeping.
  • Collaborate with team members and comply with OSHA safety policies.
  • Maintain reliable attendance.

Expected compensation for this role is between $18.00 and $23.00, based on qualifications and experience.

Essential Functions
  • Set up, operate, and maintain printing presses.
  • Monitor the printing process to maintain print quality and consistency.
  • Ensure that the final print meets quality standards and client specifications.
  • Responsible for routine maintenance on printing equipment and general housekeeping.
  • Collaborate with other team members.
  • Abide by all OSHA regulations and other established company safety policies.
  • Maintain prompt and reliable attendance.
Non-Essential Duties And Functions
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience operating a sheetfed press is preferred (Goss or DGM).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

  • Physically able to operate machinery.
  • Frequent exposure to vibration, fumes or airborne particles.
  • Works in a printing plant environment. Work with moving machinery. Exposure to loud noises and moving mechanical parts.
