Job Summary
Sets up and runs customer printing jobs on Diddie Web, Halm Jet, AB Dick, and Heidelberg Sheet Presses. Operates at a high level of production while achieving a low level of waste. Does large part of maintenance work on presses. Assists mechanic with repair work on presses. This is a Night position.

Duties/Responsibilities
- Perform all set up functions on press assigned, including but not limited to attaching plates, loading paper, filling proper ink, checking print quality, obtaining authorizations, etc.
- Run job to obtain optimum press usage.
- Run job with little waste and error.
- Troubleshoot and fix tension, paper stock, press timing, and ink problems with little or no help depending on experience.
- Account for time and materials.
- Clean up press and work area after usage.
- Maintain printing quality throughout job.
- Stack materials according to SWP guidelines.
- Do normal day‑to‑day maintenance to prevent unnecessary and costly breakdowns.
- Adhere to all safety rules including but not limited to wearing ear protection in the HCP area.
- Follow instructions on the job board exactly to fulfill the needs of the customer. Perform other duties as required.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Must be able to read and write in English.
- The employee is regularly required to stand, use hands and fingers to feel objects.
- Must be able to reach with hands and arms.
- Frequently required to walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or even crawl.
- Frequently required to lift or move up to 50 lbs.; regularly required to lift or move up to 40 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required are close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- The employee is regularly required to use tools of all kinds.
- Works in a hearing conservation area. Required to wear hearing protection at all times in that area.
- Walks a great deal of time.
- Must be able to pick up and carry 40 to 50 lbs. at least 4 to 5 times per hour; must be able to move 5 to 10 lbs., 21 to 25 times per hour.
- Operators very often get ink, dirt, and grease on hands and cloths.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must be able to read, write, and do basic math.
Physical Requirements
- Hearing protection required in this area.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee works near moving mechanical parts. Hands or arms could be in danger if safety rules are not followed.
- The employee is frequently exposed to vibration, fumes, and airborne particles.
