Job summary

Baker Roofing Company is seeking a Sheet Metal Repair Laborer to support roofers and foremen, preparing job sites and installing roofing systems using metal, aluminum, wood, and related materials.

You will operate hand and power tools, follow safety procedures, and work with a crew to complete projects on schedule while learning new roofing techniques.

Qualifications

• Education: High School/GED preferred but not required.
• Experience: Sheet metal experience is required.
• Driver’s License: Required

Responsibilities

• Prepare job sites and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Remove debris from roofs and surrounding work areas.
• Assist with installing insulation, vapor barriers, and roofing materials.
• Assist with installing and repairing roofing systems using metal, shingles, slate, asphalt, aluminum, wood, and single-ply systems.
• Apply adhesives, sealants, caulking, and roofing cement as needed.
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, vehicles, and other job-related equipment.
• Follow company safety procedures and identify potential hazards.
• Work collaboratively with crew members to complete projects on schedule.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What you'll do:

• Requires the ability to lift and carry items weighing 50 pounds.

• Requires seeing details at close range.


• Requires repetitive movement, bending, twisting, kneeling, crouching, stooping, or crawling.


• Requires working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Work Environment

This position requires working in a variety of environmental conditions, including:

• Exposure to extremely bright or inadequate lighting.
