Job summary

Baker Roofing Company in Cary, NC is seeking a Sheet Metal Repair Laborer to support roofers and foremen on site. You will help prepare job sites and assist with installing and repairing metal roofing systems while maintaining safety and quality.

You will handle hand and power tools, move materials, and collaborate with crew members to complete projects on schedule. This role includes hands-on training, weekly pay, and clear paths for advancement.

Qualifications

• Education: High School/GED preferred but not required.
• Experience: General construction experience required, and sheet metal experience preferred.
• Driver’s License: Required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare job sites and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Remove debris from roofs and surrounding work areas.
• Assist with installing insulation, vapor barriers, and roofing materials.
• Assist with installing and repairing roofing systems using metal, shingles, slate, asphalt, aluminum, wood, and single-ply systems.
• Apply adhesives, sealants, caulking, and roofing cement as needed.
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, vehicles, and other job-related equipment.
• Follow company safety procedures and identify potential hazards.
• Work collaboratively with crew members to complete projects on schedule.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Summary

What you'll do:

Physical Demands

• Requires the ability to lift and carry items weighing 50 pounds.
• Requires the ability to stand, walk, and balance forlong periodsof time.
• Requires use of abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without giving out or fatiguing.
• Requires seeing details at close range.
• Requires repetitive movement, bending, twisting, kneeling, crouching, stooping, or crawling.
• Requires working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Work Environment

This position requires working in a variety of environmental conditions, including:
