About the Role

Our Journeyperson Sheet Metal Mechanics are skilled professionals responsible for installing ductwork, measuring, laying out fittings, and working with related materials on new or existing commercial construction projects. They work with helpers and apprentices, typically with minimal supervision, installing HVAC and ventilation components. At Comfort Systems USA Shoffner, we promote from within, allowing talented individuals to grow into roles such as Foreman, Field Supervisor, and beyond.

Your Responsibilities

• Prioritize safety in all tasks
• Understand blueprints and drawings
• Lay out and install commercial ductwork
• Unload, move, and handle ductwork materials
• Finish and seal ductwork to pass testing
• Work at heights using ladders, lifts, or on roofs
• Assist with installing HVAC equipment

Qualifications

• Minimum 4+ years of sheet metal installation experience
• Ability to demonstrate required schooling and hours worked to qualify as a Journeyperson
• High School diploma or GED required
