Job summary

Jobot is seeking a motivated Sheet Metal Mechanic in Roanoke to fabricate, assemble, and install sheet metal for HVAC systems in commercial and industrial settings. You will play a key part in ensuring efficient operation and project success.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of sheet metal experience, blueprint proficiency, and the ability to read technical drawings. We offer competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Sheet Metal Mechanic or similar role.
Current valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints/technical drawings.
Experience operating sheet metal machinery and using hand tools.

Responsibilities

Install and repair ductwork and sheet metal components per plans and contracts.
Work with duct joints such as slide, drive, TDF, snap lock, and other assemblies.
Install HVAC equipment including air handling units, VAV boxes, and fan power boxes.
Prioritize safety in all activities, including tool use.
Interpret blueprints and verbal instructions to determine project requirements.
Inspect completed work for precision, quality, and adherence to standards.
