Job summary

McKenney's is seeking a Sheet Metal Journeyman to lead fabrication, installation and maintenance of ductwork. This role combines hands-on skills with project leadership to mentor apprentices and ensure safety and quality.

You will review certifications, read blueprints, and guide duct installation from bid to completion, leveraging SMACNA standards and CAD tools in a fast-paced HVAC environment in Charlotte, NC.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30 certification and valid apprenticeship records required
• Experience documentation aligned with SMACNA standards
• Ability to interpret blueprints and CAD drawings

Responsibilities

• Review and validate OSHA 30 certification, apprenticeship records, and experience documentation
• Administer blueprint reading assessment
• CAD proficiency evaluation
• Introduction to McKenney's project management systems and safety protocols
• Lead or co-lead a ductwork installation project
• Mentor an apprentice on 1 project task
• Successfully interpret and execute SMACNA-compliant specifications
• Independently manage a project from bid through completion
• Demonstrate proficiency in 2 specialized techniques (welding, brazing, med-gas, etc.)
• Show consistent adherence to schedule and budget targets

Objectives
