Job summary

Kelso Industries is seeking motivated Sheet Metal Install Apprentices to join our HVAC and mechanical contracting teams. This ground-floor opportunity lets you work with journeymen learning to install ductwork, fittings, and systems across commercial and industrial job sites.

You’ll learn to read drawings, stage materials, and perform physical labor while building a long-term career in the trades. The role offers hands-on training, safety focus, and growth potential.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn the sheet metal trade and commit to a long-term career path.
• Basic mechanical aptitude; comfortable with tools and hands-on tasks.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly and work in varying conditions (heat, heights, confined spaces).
• Reliable transportation and consistent attendance.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
• Some prior construction, fabrication, or trades experience is a plus (HVAC, welding, sheet metal).
• OSHA 10 (construction) or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Assist journeymen and foremen with layout, fabrication, and installation of sheet metal ductwork and fittings.
• Help stage and load fabricated materials for transport to job sites.
• Read and interpret basic mechanical drawings and shop tickets as skills develop.
• Keep work areas clean and organized; enforce PPE use and safety protocols.
• Support field crews with material handling, tool management, and general labor.
• Participate in on-the-job training and any apprenticeship coursework required by the company.
