Job Description:

BASIC DESCRIPTION:

Miller Electric is seeking sheet metal fabricators to join the Components Division team. The successful candidate will float to needed areas within the department and operate fabrication equipment including punching machines, press brakes, turrets, presses, lasers, spot welders and/or any other equipment within the department to produce products to specifications. Sheet metal fabrication experience is required.

We’re looking for an individual who will demonstrate a safety-first mentality, regularly practice effective communication within a team environment, and be a team player by cross training within the department and in other areas of Components Division.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Run fabrication equipment including: turrets, punching machines, presses, press brakes, and lasers with the ability and willingness to learn set ups.
  2. Must run multiple pieces of equipment.
  3. Forklift experience needed.
  4. Reads blueprints and uses measuring tools.
  5. Proven safety and quality record.
  6. Possesses a zero-defect mentality and commitment to producing quality work.
  7. Responsible for material ordering and production scheduling.
  8. The applicant must be able to adapt to a fast-paced work environment with minimal training.
  9. Applicant must have a proven track record of customer service skills.
  10. Other work duties as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High School Diploma and/or GED equivalent. Additional schooling a plus.
  2. Reliable, self-motivated, team oriented with good communication skills.
  3. Detail oriented.
  4. Mechanically inclined.
  5. Basic computer skills.
  6. Must be willing to cross-train.
  7. 1+ years of sheet metal fabrication experience.
  8. Must be able to read blueprint drawings.
  9. Must be able to follow set-up directions, and understand product specifications.
  10. Must be able to stand for up to 12 hours a day and lift up to 50 lbs.
  11. Overtime will be required.
