TeamCraft Roofing is seeking a sheet metal fabricator to join our family‑owned company in Lincolnton, NC. Entry‑level apprentices and experienced fabricators are encouraged to apply, as we provide on‑the‑job training to help you grow your skills and build a long‑term career with a safety‑minded team.

You will read blueprints, measure, cut, and assemble sheet metal for commercial and industrial roofing projects, install ducts and related components, and ensure quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• Must read and write English at high school level.
• Knowledge and skill in the use of small measurement devices, hand held power tools, and other equipment used in roofing.
• Must possess hand-eye coordination to use hand tools and perform hard physical labor.
• Must be able to understand and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Utilize and interpret blueprints to determine fabrication, assembly, and installation of sheet metal products.
• Measure, mark dimensions and lay out material using rulers, scribes and squares.
• Fasten joints and seams in sheet metal with solder, welds, caulk, bolts and clips ensuring durable bonds.
• Install assemblies including pipes, HVAC ducts, flashings, rain gutters and furnace casings in supportive frameworks.
• Ensure efficiency in fabrication and installation of roofing systems.

Job Description

This will be for fabricating sheet metal products and parts for our commercial and industrial roofing company. Entry-level apprentices and experienced sheet metal fabricators are encouraged to apply, as we provide on-the-job training.

You will get to put your technical and mathematical skills to use operating tools and machines and taking measurements according to blueprints. This role will be great for anyone who wants to make the most of their abilities and grow with a family-oriented company committed to safety and hard work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Utilize and interpret blueprints to determine how and where to fabricate, assemble and install sheet metal products
• Measure, mark dimensions and lay out material to be installed using tools such as scribes, rulers, calculators and squares
• Fasten joints and seams in sheet metal with solder, welds, caulk, bolts and metal driver clips, ensuring work is done carefully and bonds will last
• Install assemblies, including pipes, HVAC ducts, flashings, rain gutters and furnace casings in supportive frameworks
• Ensure that efficiency is maximized while fabricating and installing roofing systems
• Use hand and power tools to trim, buff, smooth, file and grind metal surfaces and joints of parts that have been assembled to ensure safety and a seamless appearance
• Select the appropriate type and gauge of sheet metal to be used in projects according to specifications
• Ensure safety is a priority on the job during all activities, including using tools and installing and fabricating metal
• Any other project or task necessary to ensure smooth and successful business operations

• Must be able to understand and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Handwriting must be clear and legible on a consistent basis
• Must have a working knowledge of roofing practices and methods
• Must see to read forms, labels, directions, prints, and specifications
• Ability to effectively organize own schedule to ensure timely completion of all projects within the scheduled time-frames
• Ability to interact in a professional and courteous manner with all employees and managers of the Company an customers
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management and employees
• Ability to receive and follow instructions with minimum of oversight by supervisor
• Ability to follow through with instructions and complete assigned tasks

Preferred Experience

Two or more years' experience in sheet metal work with a similar size or larger roofing contractor.
