Job summary

Chamberlin Roofing & Waterproofing is seeking a dedicated Sheet Metal Worker to produce quality finished products per schematics and blueprints. Responsibilities include accurately measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembling sheet metal components.

Looking for someone who is committed to upholding safety guidelines and has a background in construction. Candidates must have a valid driver's license, be able to lift at least 50lbs, and be willing to work outdoors in various conditions.

Responsibilities

• Produce a finished sheet metal product adhering to specifications.

Job description

The main duty of a Sheet Metal Worker is to produce a finished product that meets the requirements specified in a schematics sheet or blueprint and is free of defects and flaws.

• Utilizing Hand Tools and Manually Operating machinery with proper PPE.
• Following Chamberlin Safety and OSHA guidelines
• Studying blueprints, diagrams and specification sheets to gain a thorough understanding of the work required
• Choosing the right sheet metals to use for a project based on the plan or blueprints
• Precisely measuring sheet metal and marking it at the proper places to comply with required specifications
• Using cutting tools to prepare sheet metal for use in subsequent steps in manufacturing or as-is installation
• Shaping, drilling and bending sheet metal to fabricate parts or components
• Welding, bolting, brazing and soldering sheet metal to join pieces together

Experience

Work, sports or organization experience that demonstrates work ethic and commitment. Preferred experience in construction with a focus on roofing, waterproofing and sheet metal

Skills

English speaking, bilingual preferred

Abilities/Requirements

• Must be 18 years old
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
• Must be able to lift at least 50lbs
• Must be able to work outside in changing weather conditions
• Must be able to work in elevated locations
• Must be able to work at least 40 hours per week and overtime when necessary
• Must be able to pass a “fit for duty” exam (lifting, bending, climbing, squatting, etc.)
• Must have reliable transportation to get to differing job locations
• Must be looking for full time employment with a desire to advance within the company
