Job summary

CyberCoders is seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Estimator in Raleigh, NC to produce accurate estimates and compelling proposals for sheet metal fabrication and installation projects. You will perform detailed takeoffs, develop cost models for steel and aluminum work, and support bidding activities.

You will use Bluebeam and FastDUCT for digital takeoffs, prepare labor, material, and equipment cost breakdowns, and coordinate with estimators, PMs, architects, and clients to ensure bids reflect

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience estimating sheet metal fabrication and installation.
• Experience with steel and aluminum preferred.
• Proficiency with takeoff/estimating tools (Bluebeam, FastDUCT) and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, ductwork systems, fittings, hangers, and field installation practices.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and scope documents.
• Experience preparing bid proposals, pricing schedules, and cost breakdowns for commercial/industrial projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform quantity takeoffs and scope reviews for sheet metal, ductwork, and related components from drawings, specs, and site documentation.
• Prepare accurate cost estimates and proposals for fabrication and installation of steel and aluminum sheet metal work.
• Produce digital takeoffs and pricing models using software such as Bluebeam and FastDUCT.
• Develop labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor cost breakdowns; apply overhead, markup, and contingency to finalize bid pricing.
• Review scope and resolve discrepancies with estimating teams, PMs, architects, and clients to ensure bids reflect full project requirements.
• Compile and submit bid packages with clear documentation of exclusions and assumptions.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to assess conditions, access, and risks affecting cost or schedule.
