Job summary

Atlantic Constructors is seeking a CAD Designer to utilize Revit and CAD software to model, coordinate and prepare detailed install, spool and other drawings for HVAC air systems.

The role requires 3+ years of Autodesk experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Office-based role with potential site visits in a professional construction setting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of related experience with Autodesk 2016+ or equivalent.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a strong team.

Responsibilities

• Generates sheet metal models from project specs, drawings, models, submittals and RFI's.
• Keeps drawings, models, specs, RFIs, change orders up to date as the project progresses.
• Develops full sets of construction shop, field, and spool drawings and related documentation.
• Performs modeling including preparation, dimensioning, annotation and spooling.
• Manages multiple projects in a fast-paced deadline environment.
• Communicates information for RFIs specific to projects and trades.
• Generates spools and drawings for prefabrication and site installation.

Summary/Objective

Responsible for utilizing Revit and Computer Aided Design (CAD) and various software to model, coordinate and prepare detailed install, spool and other drawings for HVAC air systems.

Essential Functions

• Generates sheet metal models using the designated project specifications, design drawings and models, control diagrams, submittals, RFI's, and modeling software
• Incorporates and manages current updates to drawings, models, specifications, RFI's, change orders, and submittals as the project progresses
• Develops full sets of construction "shop" drawings, "field" drawings, "spool" drawings, and more
• Completes drawing/ modeling including: model preparation, some modeling, piece numbering, annotating, dimensioning, and spooling
• Manages time and multiple projects in a fast pace deadline environment
• Generates and communicates information for RFI's specific to the projects and trade
• Generates and manages spools, drawings for prefabrication, site installation/map drawings, and control documentation
• Performs other duties as assigned

Required

• 3+ years of related experience and/or training using at least one of Autodesk 2016 or greater products; or equivalent combination of education and experience (preferably in a construction environment)
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, & Outlook)
• Be able to take direction and work independently, while working in a strong team environment
• Must be able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail and demonstrate problem-solving skills
• Must adhere to all company policy and procedures
• Must be available to work assigned schedules

Work Environment

• Works in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment
• Position may require visits to construction site

Physical Demands

• This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopier, filing cabinets and fax machine

Travel

• May require infrequent travel

Preferred

• Prior military experience
• HS diploma or GED equivalent

C.A.D. Designer , CAD Designer V.D.C.
