Job summary

Trilogy MedWaste is seeking an entry-level Sharps Tech to support on-site proactive collection and exchange of waste containers for Sharps, Pharmaceutical Waste, and Controlled Substances programs at assigned facilities. This non-supervisory role involves manual labor and adherence to safety procedures.

Based in the Charleston, SC area, this on-site position requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and ability to maintain immunizations and credentials per contract.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (accredited) is required.
• Valid Driver’s License is required.
• Ability to Maintain required mandatory immunizations and credentialing based on customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Ensures waste types are properly segregated, regulatory shipment windows are met, proper container labeling is adhered to, good housekeeping is maintained, and accurate tracking logs are kept.
• Travel between customer healthcare facilities to proactively monitor, collect, and exchange waste containers for various Sharps and Pharmaceutical Management Systems.
• Interacts professionally with onsite customer staff to ensure service expectations are met or exceeded.
• Maintains a rigid collection and service schedule.
• Communicates duty status on a defined scheduled.
• Participates and cooperates in safety process, including following written procedures, attending required training and scheduled meetings.
• Maintains a minimal amount of manifest errors.
• Maintains compliance with applicable environmental, safety and transportation regulations (EPA, OSHA, and DOT).
• Immediately reports any unsafe conditions, incidents, injuries or property damage to supervisor.
• Participates and cooperates in safety process, including following written procedures, attending required training and scheduled meetings.
• May provide support or direction to less experienced technicians.
• Wears required personal protective equipment.
• Performs labor intensive activities such as walking long distances while pushing/pulling service carts.
• Performs other related duties as required or requested.

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

• Able to work an agreed upon standard schedule
• Additional hours as job duties demand

• Travel to domestic Trilogy facilities when necessary (less than 10%)
• Must have a current, valid driver's license
• Able to be insurable under our company's liability insurance policy
