Sharon High School is seeking a Math teacher who has a passion for teaching mathematics and inspiring students to develop a love for the subject. This individual must maintain a positive, encouraging attitude, foster a motivating and supportive classroom environment; show a commitment to continuous professional development and stay updated on best practices in math education; be sensitive and responsive to the diverse cultural backgrounds of students, promoting an inclusive classroom culture; exhibit leadership skills and the ability to mentor and guide students towards academic success; be eager to contribute to a culture of collaboration within the Math Department, working together for the benefit of all students; and bring innovative ideas and approaches to enhance the department's instructional strategies and student engagement.
Primary Responsibilities
- Plan and teach multiple sections of high school mathematics.
- Collaborate with the 6-12 math coordinator and members of the mathematics department to support student learning and growth.
- Follow district curriculum and utilize appropriate learning activities for teaching math.
- Plan and execute instructional strategies tailored to meet the academic and social/emotional needs of students.
- Utilize student-level data to inform instruction and design effective lessons and interventions.
- Demonstrate deep knowledge of math content, methods, and effective instructional principles.
- Foster a safe and culturally proficient classroom environment with high expectations for student learning.
- Partner effectively with families, caregivers, specialists, coaches, administrators, and parents to support student development.
- Collaborate with ELL and Special Education administrators to implement strategies for student success.
- Manage student behavior, assess, and evaluate student achievement under general supervision.
- Create and maintain a positive classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Fulfill additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Valid Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Mathematics license at the appropriate level.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to teach up to Calculus
- Experience working with or teaching high school students, with an understanding of their needs.
- Collaborative work ethic.
- Training or experience in instructional technology.
- Commitment to inclusive pedagogy.
- Potential to contribute to student life beyond the classroom.
- SEI Teacher Endorsement (within one year of employment).
Preferred Qualifications
- Willingness to participate in extracurricular activities, such as math clubs or coaching, to further support student development.
