Job Description
GDIT is seeking a SharePoint Online & Power Platform Solutions Specialist in support of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Defense Enterprise Office Solution (DEOS) Program Management Office (PMO) to serve as the functional voice for SharePoint Online across classified cloud environments.
Every user of SharePoint Online in a classified environment depends on it working the way it was promised. As a Solutions Specialist, the ideal candidate will work closely with M365 Engineering, Automation, and Operations teammates and be the SharePoint and Power Platform expert who understands both the platform and the people using it.
Selected candidate will support customer change requests and build dashboards that keep management informed. The Specialist will also serve as an early-warning check on new Microsoft capabilities entering the IL6 environment, so problems are found and escalated before mission users hit them.
MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
- Gather requirements, evaluate change requests, and build or advise on solutions using native SharePoint features, Power Apps, Power Automate, and practical workarounds.
- Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports for management use.
- As part of Tier 4 Engineering, provide expert guidance and escalation support to the Tier 3 operations team on SharePoint Online and Power Platform issues.
- Track SharePoint-related Microsoft roadmap and Message Center communications; test new features arriving in classified environments, document defects with evidence, and work with Operations to submit cases.
- Assess how each feature, new or change, affects users as well as the tenant, and recommend the communications, training, and support needed for a successful rollout, when applicable.
- Partner with customer SMEs and stakeholders across all experience levels; know when to redirect an approach that won't work in a more restricted environment and bring an alternative that still meets the underlying need.
- Support solutions and issues across multiple tenants and enclaves managed by the Team, recognizing where configuration and capability differ.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED (Required)
- Bring your technology expertise and drive for innovation to GDIT. The SharePoint Online & Power Platform Solutions Specialist must have:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. An additional 4 years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
- Minimum of an active Secret security clearance.
- Current DoW 8570 IAT Level II certification required (Security+ CE or equivalent).
- 10+ years of related experience.
- Hands-on experience with Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate.
- Strong working knowledge of modern SharePoint (sites, lists, libraries, permissions, metadata, content types) and how different user groups use it.
- Ability to elicit requirements, then apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to find practical solutions within platform limitations.
- Comfortable, confident communicator who can explain technical concepts to any audience, in both everyday discussion and formal presentations.
- General understanding of Teams, OneDrive, and M365 administration concepts.
- Superior customer service skills, essential for engaging with a wide range of stakeholders in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Sharp eye for catching issues in new features or changes before they reach users - critical given the pace and quality of releases moving into this environment.
