Job summary

Recruiter in New York seeks an experienced SharePoint developer to design and optimize SharePoint 2010 sites, build custom solutions, and ensure best practices in development. The role requires strong analysis, project planning and estimation skills, plus solid database knowledge (MySQL, SQL Server).

You will collaborate with client MIS groups and offshore resources, using .NET, Silverlight and Java to deliver robust, well-documented web systems.

Qualifications

• Design and develop SharePoint 2010 sites and ensure optimization.
• Develop and maintain custom SharePoint solutions and enforce development best practices.
• Utilize analysis, planning and estimation skills for project delivery.
• Interact with client MIS groups to ensure correct requirements are captured.
• Work with MySQL and SQL Server databases and frameworks (ADO/ODBC).
• Modify and monitor web systems through documentation, testing and development.
• Minimum 2-year degree in computer-related field; 4-year preferred.
• Microsoft certifications in SharePoint development and current tech updates encouraged.
• Familiar with .Net, Silverlight and Java techs; strong database knowledge.
• Strong multitasking, time management and written/spoken communication skills.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Design and develop SharePoint 2010 sites ensuring strong optimization and functionality
• Assist in the development and maintenance of custom SharePoint solutions and ensure best practices for development are implemented
• Utilize strong analysis, project planning and estimation skills to determine level of effort needed for project delivery
• Interact with client MIS groups ensuring customer requirements are managed correctly
• Work with various database systems including MySQL, and SQL Server and frameworks including ADO and ODBC.
• Analyze, review and modify web systems by designing, maintaining, documenting, testing, developing and monitoring
• At least a 2-year degree, preferably a 4-year in a computer-related field (computer science/programming)
• Microsoft certifications in SharePoint development and desire to stay updated on current and new technologies
• Familiarity with a variety of development frameworks with preferred experience in .Net, Silverlight and Java technologies
• Good database knowledge especially MySQL and good understanding of major operating systems
• Ability to multitask and strong time management and organizational skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate with offshore development resources, coupled with strong attention to detail
