The candidate chosen for this role will be tasked with application development and support for the client's Microsoft SharePoint Services within the internet, intranet, and extranet sites. This position will also be involved in migrating from our existing SharePoint 2003 collaboration environment, SharePoint 2007 Web Content Management environment, and SharePoint 2010 Search environment to a new SharePoint 2013 environment.
Qualifications - Basic/Required:
- Considerable knowledge and experience with SharePoint
- Knowledge of site definitions, InfoPath, web part development, and master pages
- 2+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server Database (Ver 2008 / 2012)
- Experience using virtual desktops in a development environment
- Proven track record of working in a large SharePoint environment
- Ability to work as a member of a global support team
- 5+ years of experience with SharePoint 2003 / 2007 / 2010 / 2013
- 1+ years experience with ASP.NET development
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of SharePoint 2003 / 2007 / 2010 / 2013
- Experience in object-oriented software development methodologies and practices
- Good documentation and analytical skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good team and independent work skills
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem resolution skills
- Ability to communicate well, understand business needs, and turn requirements into solutions
- Aptitude for providing exceptional customer service even in fast-paced or intense environments
- Strong knowledge of Windows architecture, deployment considerations, and structured development methodologies
Responsibilities may include:
- Design, develop, customize, and deploy SharePoint applications
- Gather business requirements, perform analysis, and design solutions that meet customer needs
- Create custom administration tools for SharePoint administrators
- Document all custom developed applications in detail
- Use tools such as Team Foundation Server (TFS) to manage applications
- Utilize tools like Metalogix (optional) to migrate content from SharePoint 2003/2007 sites to SharePoint 2013
- Perform code reviews for modules developed by other groups for the SharePoint environment
- Create standard API modules for use by other development groups within the organization
- Evaluate new SharePoint features and identify ways to leverage them
