Job summary

ArchWell Health seeks a Medical Assistant to support market PCPs and coordinate patient care in a fast-paced clinical setting. The role includes greeting and rooming patients, measuring vitals, and assisting with diagnostic tests as needed.

The Market Float MA will travel to regional centers as assignments arise, with travel reimbursed at the standard rate, and will contribute to a patient-centered care team focused on geriatric patients and high-quality service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduation from a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program or comparable training.
• Minimum 3 years of Medical Assistant experience.
• 1 year of phlebotomy experience.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers required.
• EClinicalWorks or similar EMR experience.
• Experience with geriatric patients is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Take patient intake, record vital signs, collect medical history.
• Assist PCPs during exams and routine screenings.
• Manage patient communications, return calls, and coordinate with team.
• Change dressings, apply bandages, and perform basic first aid under supervision.
• Ensure OSHA safety standards and proper documentation.
• Provide health coaching and follow up with patients weekly.
• Float to regional centers as needed, travel reimbursed.

Job Summary

Core to the ArchWell Health approach is to have a robust clinical care team focused on the needs of our members. Care teams are responsible for delivering excellent and compassionate primary care and coordinating the care of our members with the broader healthcare delivery system. The Medical Assistant (MA)-Market Float is a critical role to support the Market’s PCPs day-to-day and ensure efficiency in the care provided to patients. MAs will work closely and collaboratively with the market care teams to greet and room ArchWell Health members. S/he will be expected to assist in assessing patient’s health conditions, including performing routine diagnostic testing during appointments. The MA Market Float may be asked to report to regional centers with short notice.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Conduct intake with patients, measuring and recording vital signs, patient interview, and medical history; perform examinations and routine screenings, ensuring patients are informed and all questions and concerns are addressed for eachprocedure.
• Critically listen and engage with patients throughout appointment, ensuring needs and/or changing in patient conditions are reported to PCP, specialists, and/or other clinical personnel
• Perform all tasks with a hyper focus on patient experience, including processing of patient phone messages,includingreturning calls; routing calls to other team members as appropriate; calling patients to obtain and relay pertinent information for thephysician.
• Change dressings, apply bandages, remove sutures and other first aid procedures; use CPRskillswhen necessary, all under physiciansupervision
• Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and conduct accurate, legal, and ethical documentationat alltimes.
• Provide health coaching to a defined group of patients to support healthy lifestyle choices; follows up with coached patients via weeklycalls.
• Candidate should have the ability to report to other regional centers with short notice. Organization will normally have schedule posted 1 week in advance, but there will be occasional needs to float candidate to other center with last minute call outs. Any travel mileage in addition to travel to home center will be reimbursed at the standard rate.

• Ability to travel on occasion for company meetings.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent education (GED)required.
• Graduation from a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program OR comparable healthcare vocational training (i.e.foreign-trained physician, paramedic, etc.)required
• A minimum of 3 years work experience as a Medical Assistant
• 1 year of phlebotomy experience.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers required.
• EClinicalWorks or similar EMR experience
• Experience working with geriatric patients is a plus.
