Job description

Kennedy-Donovan Center (KDC) is committed to providing high-quality care to the individuals we support. The purpose of the Shared Living Program (SLP) is to provide a home setting to individuals who cannot live independently. Shared Living homes promote individual growth, the development of relationships both within the home and in the greater community, individual choice-making, and the health and safety of the individuals.

KDC is seeking caring and compassionate caregivers throughout central and eastern Massachusetts to share their home and life with a person with disability.

Responsibilities

1. Provide support and supervision to the individual
2. Participate in and attend all meetings involving the individual
3. Ensure the health and safety of the individual, including scheduling/attending medical appointments, maintaining a safe home, and administering medications
4. Complete required documentation
5. Participate in trainings and maintain certifications

Qualifications

1. Must have an available bedroom for the individual
2. Criminal Record Check (CORI) and RMV checks for self and all family members through DDS
3. High school diploma or GED
4. Must be 18 years or older
5. Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
6. Commitment to community-based support for adults with developmental disabilities
7. Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities is helpful but not required
