Shared Living Caregivers help the individuals with whom they live stay healthy, get around town, manage their money, make friends and be part of the community where they live.

Who Can Be a Shared Living Caregiver?

Shared Living Caregivers are people who care about other people. Caregivers may be single, part of a couple, members of extended families, have children and pets, and be experienced or not. They may live in a single family home or an apartment with an extra bedroom.

What are the requirements to being a Shared Living Caregiver?

A Shared Living Caregiver must be 18 years or older, have appropriate accommodations to meet the individual's living needs, be understanding and supportive of individuals with disabilities, and pass a criminal background check, driving record check, and home assessment.
