Job summary

Wofford College invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor of International Affairs in the Department of Government and International Affairs, commencing Fall 2027.

The successful candidate will teach a 3-1-3 load, engage in undergraduate advising and scholarly activity, and contribute to a residential liberal arts environment through experiential teaching, community outreach, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Political Science or closely related field.
• One year of full-time teaching experience or equivalent.
• Broad training in International Relations and Comparative Politics; ability to teach intro and upper-level courses.
• Ability to teach introductory IR and a course on international institutions.
• Potential to teach courses on international law, American foreign policy, Latin American politics, European politics, and/or introductory research methods.
• Inclusive pedagogical approaches engaging a vibrant student community.

Responsibilities
